Red Analcime with Thaumasite
Collection
Hershel Friedman
Description
This is an unusual Analcime crystal in fibrous Thaumasite. The coloring is from Hematite inclusions, which leaves the Analcime a desirable red. Its red color looks similar to garnet, which also forms in that crystal habit. There are several smaller, less-remarkable crystals present as well, including one that seems to have repaired with glue. Original collection of Curt Hennig, acquired from Eric Stanchich in 2014.
