Anglesite Pseudomorph after Galena

Anglesite Pseudomorph after Galena from Blanchard Mine, Bingham, New Mexico

Collection

Robert Lavinsky

Description

One of the prize targets from the well-known Blanchard mine are the strange altered Galena crystals. These two, aesthetically paired like a modern sculpture, are coated with micro Anglesite crystals, themselves using the Lead element coming from the Galena. The largest Galena crystal is the rectangular prism, and it is 1.2 cm. You almost never find the Galenas in these Fluorite-like, aesthetic pairs of crystals. Stark and dramatic, and complete all around.
