Large Bright Molybdenite Crystal
Collection
Robert Lavinsky
Description
A very large, super-bright crystal of Molybdenite from old finds in Australia. The hexagonal form of the crystal is quite clear here, which is rather rare, especially for such a large crystal. Molybdenite forms in super-thin sheets due to its atomic structure, with the atoms lining up on a single plane.

Allies Mine, Deepwater, Gough Co., New South Wales, Australia
