Nepheline syenite

Type of rock found in alkaline igneous rock composed primarily of Nepheline and alkali feldspar (i.e. feldspars rich in potassium and sodium). Other alkali minerals are often present as well. Nepheline syenite is sometimes intruded by a pegmatite, and these zones can be the host of many unique and exotic minerals.
