Description
Doubly terminated translucent blue sapphire crystal with tapered, hexagonal crystal form and prism faces that have faint crystal growth patterns that resemble striations. This was specimen recovered from an alluvial deposit and the edges show wear, but the crystal form is distinct.
Locality
Bibile, Monaragala District, Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon).
