Prehnite Finger Group
Collection
Robert Lavinsky
Description
This specimen is composed of well formed fingers of very lustrous, translucent, light apple-green, Prehnite pseudomorphs after Anhydrite. The fingers reach 4.25 cm in length and one can see the empty casts on the bottom that once contained Anhydrite. A very aesthetic, 3-dimensional piece with depth of field to its view, this is one of the larger specimens recovered in such good condition (all stalactites are complete except only the minor one at bottom). Such pieces were previously seen only from old collections and museum deaccessions.
