Chalcocite with Chrysocolla on Calcite
Collection
Robert Lavinsky
Description
Extremely sharp Chalcocites to 1 cm perched on contrasting Calcite matrix make this a very special, unique miniature for the famous locality, mined actively during the Civil War era. Such specimens are few and far between now, and this is a very choice piece, aesthetically. The Chalcocite is partially altering to bluish-green Chrysocolla on the edges, as is typical of this mineral. Ex. Dr. Gene Laberge.
