Doubly Terminated Kyanite
Collection
Robert Lavinsky
Description
This specimen features a 6 cm-long, doubly terminated Kyanite in contrasting silvery mica matrix, from the classic old locality in Switzerland. The color is outstanding and this is a good Kyanite by any standard, modern and Brazilian included. I'd not seen so good from Switzerland before and couldn't believe this when I saw it, but there is an old label on the back to prove it. From the rarities suite of Lawrence Conklin, who exchanged it from the American Museum of Natural History. One of the best display Kyanites, with the history as a bonus!
