Axinite with Chlorite Coating
Collection
Robert Lavinsky
Description
A rich, old-timer specimen of Axinite coated with Chlorite from the Swiss Alps that passed through two notable collections (the Wein collection and that of Eric Asselborn) before ending up in the auctions. The razor-sharp crystals measure up to 2.5 cm. Though these are very easily damaged due to the thinness of their terminations, this specimen is in superb condition, despite its age.
Locality
Scopi Mt., Medel Valley, Grischun (Grisons; Graubünden), Switzerland
